ARL Masters Carnival
The ARL Masters Carnival is held annually at the Runaway Bay Junior Leagues Club on Queensland's Gold Coast. Over 60 teams take part with over 1,500 participants. Players must be over 35 years of age and the rules are heavily modified to ensure player safety. Teams play five games over three days and also participate in a full social program.
The Cooly Classic
Coolangatta Ocean Swim is Coolangatta's newest surf challenge and encompasses three of Australia's most revered surf breaks - Snapper Rocks, Coolangatta and Kirra. Coolangatta is world famous for its surf sports culture and the Cooly Classic. The Cooly Classic also features a short course option which is perfect for nippers or less experienced ocean swimmers. The Long Course is a two kilometre open water swim and the Short Course is a 500 metre open water swim. Your Options: 2.0km Speedo Long Course The main event starts at the popular Snapper Rocks surf break and follows the coast north passing Rainbow Bay, Greenmount and Coolangatta enroute to the finish at legendary Kirra Beach. 750m Gold Coast Bulletin Short Course The Cooly Classic also features a new 750m Short Course option from Coolangatta to Kirra Beach. This is a perfect introduction for less experienced ocean swimmers but still retains the popular point-to-point format.

Visitors can view the latest super yachts, luxury cruisers, sail boats, trailerable craft, electronics, marine accessories, navigational and safety gear and water craft. Over two decades the Show has been recognised as an essential event for the marine industry’s national and international marketing. More than 400 exhibitors showcase hundreds of power and sail boats and a wide array of marine products and services.
Surfers Paradise Festival
The Surfers Paradise Festival is here. A four-week cultural kaleidoscope of events showcasing the diverse talent to be found in and around the seaside city. Throughout May and June, the beach, streets, parks, venues and eateries of Surfers will be filled with energetic live performances, engaging art displays, vibrant outdoor festivals and insatiable food do's. There are so many entertainment options in the program whatever culture fix you may be seeking will easily be satisfied. It's all happening in Australia's entertainment playground!
Gold Coast Airport Marathon
The Gold Coast Airport Marathon is annually held on the first weekend in July during the winter school holidays. This major event is set to attract more than 25,000 runners and walkers from all over Australia and the world in 2011. Races include the 42.195 kilometre marathon, half marathon (wheelchair race included), 10 kilometre run, five kilometre run and walk and junior dash races for the kids over four kilometres and two kilometres.
